About Rangat

Rangat is known for its pristine beaches, waterfalls and interesting islands in Middle Andaman.This islands is a 1070 sq. km large spread across 75 census villages where population is primarily made up of people from Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Fisheries and cultivation are the two primary occupations of people in this island.

Entry into Rangat is from Port Blair and by ferries from Havelock, Neil and Long Island. Therefore, tourists have to enter Andaman through Port Blair and travel to Rangat by road or sea both. The island is 50 nautical miles by sea from Port Blair, Boats are available for 4-5 days in a week and the travel time is about 4-5 hours.  Morning bus services are also available, generally is take about 6-7 hours to reach Rangat by passes through Jarawa reserves on the west coasts of South and Middle Andaman.

This island is not familiar as must see places by tourist, but those who come up here can be surprised by the attractions it has to offer. Amongst the top attractions of Rangat is the Aamkunj Beach which is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and relaxation, Moricedera is an ideal location for picnic in a natural, Dhaninallah Mangrove Nature Walk the largest Nature Walk of its kind in India, Yerrata Mangrove Park to learn about diverse variety of mangroves, Cuthbert Bay Beach famous for turtle nesting & Panchavati Hills a beautiful anture and gentle waterfall.
