Andaman and Nicobar Island, being an ideal gateway to spend your time by just relaxing and enjoying. The city has tropical monsoon climate which means you can visit it throughout the year. However, the best time to visit is the summer and winter months between October to May as they are ideal for tourist activities as well as the climate is quite pleasurable.
Port Blair is connected with mainland India by both Air and Sea. Tourists can reach there by taking 2-4 hours flight from mainland India to Port Blair, but it takes 3–4 days by sea to reach from Kolkata, Chennai or Visakhapatnam. Air connectivity to Port Blair is available from Kolkata, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai etc. All flights bound to Andaman and Nicobar Islands land at the Veer Savarkar International Airport and Sea connectivity is available from Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.
It is home to several museums and a major naval base of the Indian Navy, along with sea and air bases of the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Air Force. Port Blair is also famous for the historic Cellular Jail and other small islands like Corbyn's Cove, Wandoor, Ross Island, Viper Island etc. Port Blair does not have very clean beaches but then the islands in and around Port Blair are worth visiting once in this life time. The islands out there are the best Havelock and Neil.
